Unknown Brass lock Travelling Flintlock c1790
An interesting flintlock, travelling pistol by an unknown maker, probably French made in the late 18th century.
The .67 caliber, banded, octagonal to round, smoothbore barrel measures 4 inches with the whole pistol measuring 10 ½ inches. There are no markings on the barrel
Like the barrel, the stepped, brass lock plate with unbridled brass flash pan is also unmarked. The action is a little stiff but still in working order.
The brass trigger guard, birds head butt cap and rammer pipes, are all in good condition.
The full-length walnut stock is in a solid condition. Note that this is a noticeable piece measuring about 1 ½ inches missing behind the cock.
The still functional, brass topped, rammer is original to the pistol.
