Provincial English Percussion Coat Pistol c1860

$1925

A solid example of a provincial English, percussion, coat pistol made around 1860.

The .50 caliber, sighted octagonal, smoothbore barrel with attached swivel rammer measures 5 ½ inches, with the whole pistol measuring around 10 ½ inches.

Light engraving is found on all the major iron components.

The back action lock is engraved with what looks like ‘KING’ although a spot of corrosion covers the ‘G’. The name suggests the pistol was made by T. J. King who operated a shop in Bristol around 1850.

The lock is in good working order.

The walnut stock which features a vacant German silver echelon is in a good solid condition with no cracks or splits. The checkering on the grip shows some wear.

Overall, a good solid example of a coat pistol.

Sold as collector item only.

Price includes postage in Australia, lay buy available.
