Pocket Pistol Marked Nock c1840

A well preserved, percussion, pocket pistol probably made by Samuel Nock around 1840.

The .45 caliber, screw off, smooth-bore barrel measures just under 1 ¾ inches with the whole pistol measuring 6 inches. The barrel and breech have Birmingham proofs. Note that the barrel is stuck fast.

The frame has delicate amaranthus engraving with ‘NOCK’ engraved on the left side.

The action is stiff but still working.

The plane, walnut, slab-sided grip is in good condition.
