Pair of Percussion Miqueletes by Urcelai c1856

An excellent pair of Spanish percussion Miquelete belt pistols with barrels marked for the barrel smith Esteban Urcelai from Eibar and dated 1856.
The .65 calibre part octagonal part round cannon barrels measure 6 inches with the whole pistols measuring 10 ¾ inches.
The locks, hammers and external lock components are decorated with engraving and cold chiselling.
The barrels a profusely decorated with engraving on the tang, etching and banding midway up the barrel and at the muzzle.
The barrels are etched ‘EN EIBAR’ / ‘ESTEBAN URCELAI’ / ‘ANO 1856’. The steel trigger guards and rammer pipes are engraved. The belt hooks and butt caps with lanyard rings are smooth.
The flared grips are finely checked and there are some handling marks on the wood work.
The actions are in very good working order.
Overall an excellent pair of Spanish percussion pistol well above average. These pistols also come with a quality custom made display stand.
