Octagonal Barrel Belgium Pocket

Offered here is an upmarket Belgium, percussion, box-lock pocket pistol made around 1840 – 1850.

The .47 caliber, screw-off, smoothbore, octagonal barrel measures 2 ¾ inches with the whole pistol measuring 6 ¼ inches.

The frame is engraved and bears the oval Belgium proof mark. The barrel is currently stuck fast. The action is very stiff and the drop-down trigger is at fault.

The finely checked grip with vacant, shield shaped echelon is in good condition.
