French Model AN XIII Swiss conversion

$3250

This pistol is a French model AN XIII flintlock cavalry pistol that appears to have been made for the Swiss, later it was converted to percussion. The lock plate has the remnants of the French arsenal Mutzig address, there is no provision for a rammer and the barrel has a fore sight. This suggests a special order for someone outside the French military.

The sighted, .70 caliber, smoothbore barrel measures 7 inches with the whole pistol measuring 13 ½ inches. The bore is in excellent condition.

The barrel is numbered 134 and has various Swiss markings, see photos.

The lock plate has a faint Mutzig arsenal, manufacture’s engraving. The action is in very good working order.

The regulation brass furniture is in very good condition. Note, for reasons unknown, there is a hole on the underside of the barrel band.

The three-quarter walnut stock is in very good condition with few handling marks. As mentioned, there is no provision for a rammer.

Sold as a collector item only.
