French Model 1842 Gendarmerie Pistol

A good condition, French, model 1842, Gendarmerie percussion pistol dated 1842.

The .60 caliber, unsighted, round, smoothbore barrel measures 5 inches with the whole pistol measuring 10 inches. The barrel tang is engraved ‘Mle 1842’ with various inspection marks around the breech.

The working, back action lock is clearly engraved ‘Mre Rle / de St Etienne’.

The regulation, iron furniture is in good condition and still displays various inspection marks.

The walnut stock is also in a good, used condition.
