European Bulbus Butt Pocket Pistols c1800

$3400

A pair of small, bulbus butt, pocket pistols from an unknown European maker made around 1800.

The .37 caliber, screw off, smoothbore, canon barrels measure 1 ½ inches with each pistol measuring an over-all 6 ½ inches. The barrels are stuck fast.

There are no makers mark or proof marks on either pistol.

Both pistols have very rudimentary engraving on the locks with the word ‘LonDon’ appearing on each side of the locks. The actions will not release from full cock without assistance.

The bulbus grips appear to be of some type fruit wood. Note that one of the pistols has a small crack at the rear of the grip. See photos.

Sold as a collector item only.

Price includes postage in Australia, layby available.
