Converted European Travelling Pistol

$1950

A very solid, smaller, travelling or coat pistol that was originally made as a flintlock around 1780 and later converted to percussion.

The .71 caliber, octagonal to round, smoothbore barrel measures just over 5 ½ inches with the whole pistol measuring just under 11 inches. The barrel has a good amount of what looks like the original finish.

The lock and hammer are sparsely engraved with any original makers name removed in the conversion process.

The action is very stiff but in good working order.

The plain brass furniture is in good condition. An unusual feature is that the butt cap is held in place by brass pins, see photos.

The walnut stock is in good solid condition with some handling marks but no repairs.

Sold as a collector item only.

Price includes postage in Australia, lay buy available.
