Colonial Era Farm Shotgun c1860

$750

This type of single barrel shotgun was once found in almost every country household in the colonial era.

The 16 gauge, octagonal to round, sighted, smoothbore barrel measures 47 inches with the whole arm measuring 48 inches. There are Birmingham proofs under the barrel but the makers name is not readable.

The lock is sparsely engraved but has no maker’s name. The action is still in working order.

The stock is in a good used condition with a repair just forward of the lock. See photos. The barrel wedge is worn and needs assistance in staying in place, hence there is some movement of the barrel.

Overall, a good surviving example of a country gun from the Australian colonial era.

Sold as a collector item only.

Price includes shipping in Australia, layby available.
