Cased Pepperbox by Lacy & Co c1840

$5500
An excellent larger than average cased English pepperbox marked Lacy & Co made about 1840 that appears never to have been fired.
The fluted Birmingham proofed .42 calibre six shot barrel cluster with barrels numbered from 1 to 6 measures 4 ½ inches with the whole pistol measuring 9 ¼ inches.
The steel parts are all lightly engraved in the standard English fashion of the time and the butt has a hinged cap box. The right side of the pistol is marked ‘LACY & Co / LONDON’. The action is in very good working order.
The finely chequered walnut grips are in excellent condition.
The pepperbox come in a good original mahogany case with bullet mould, power flask, nipple key and cleaning rod with worm make up the accessories.
An excellent untouched and probably unfired pepperbox.
