AN IX Napoleonic Belgium Made Flintlock
A good condition, Belgium made, Napoleonic era, French model AN IX flintlock pistol.
The AN IX model was introduced to the French arsenal in 1800 and the Belgium oval proof was mandated by Napoleon in 1810.
The .69 caliber, round, smoothbore barrel bearing the oval Belgium proof measures 8 inches with the whole pistol measuring 14 inches.
The plane lock has a small Belgium inspection mark between the reinforced cock and brass flash pan. The action does not hold full cock.
The regulation brass furniture, including the barrel band that acts as the fore sight, is in good condition.
The full-length walnut stock is in good used condition. The rammer appears to be a later replacement.
Over-all a good example of a Napoleonic military pistol that saw service as evident by the charred wood around the flash pan.
