Delightful Pair of English Pockets
Offered here is a rare pair of quality English, percussion, pocket pistols with drop down triggers made around 1850 by an unknown gunsmith.
The .40 caliber, round, smoothbore barrels measure 2 ½ inches with the pistols measuring 6 ¾ inches each. Both pistols have Birmingham proofs.
The box-lock frames are lightly engraved with the engraving extending onto the breech. The hammers also, have eyes! See photos. The action on one pistol is at fault while the other is very stiff.
The walnut grips are finely checkered and have a vacant, oval metal echelon. One of the grips appears to have been repaired at some stage.
These delightful pistols come with a custom-made display stand.
Sold as collector items only.
