Brass Mounted Queens Anne by Hickman c1750
A well presented, brass mounted, Queen Anne flintlock pistol by Hickman of London. It is thought that Hickman operated in London around 1750, not much else is known.
The .60 caliber, three stage, smoothbore, cannon barrel measures 5 ¼ inches with the whole pistol measuring 12 ½ inches.
The name ‘HICKMAN’ is found under the recumbent ‘L’ shaped frizzen spring. London proofs marks and Hickson’s own ‘IH’ mark are found on the underside of the breech. The barrel still screws off and the action is in good working order.
The brass furniture and embellishments including, thin wire, side plate and grotesque face, are in good condition. See photos.
The walnut stock with it’s classic Queen Anne truncated form is in very good condition.
