H E Leman Pennsylvania Long Rifle

$0

Offered here is an original, percussion, Pennsylvania, long rifle made by Henry L Leman of Lancaster, Pennsylvania around 1850. Leman had an excellent reputation for making very accurate long arms that were sold to fur traders and traded to native Americans for furs, horses and such.

The heavy, .36 caliber, sighted, octagonal barrel measures 40 inches with the whole rifle measuring around 55 inches. The barrel is marked ‘H. E. LEMAN / LANCASTER PA. / WARRANTED’ and features a brass fore sight and a rear sight set 9 inches along the barrel.

The lock has sparse engraving, is clearly marked ‘H. E. LEMAN / LANCASTER PA’ and features double set triggers. The lock still functions but is very stiff.

All the brass work, including the patch box, trigger guard and curved butt are in good condition.

The full-length tiger striped, maple stock is in a good used condition.

Sold as a collector item only.

Price includes shipping within Australia, layby available.
