Scottish Bayonet Tap Action by Blaikie c1820

An excellent sharp and crisp tap action flintlock pistol with bayonet marked Blaikie of Haddington Scotland. Haddington is some 20 miles from Edinburgh.
The .40 calibre barrels measure 2 ¼ inches while the pistol measures 7 inches and 9 ¼ inches with the bayonet extended.
The box lock action is engraved with floral and flag motifs and ‘BLAIKIE’ and ‘HADDINGTON’ on the left and right sides.
The action functions as it should as dose the tap and sliding safety.
The checkering on the slab grip is sharp and there is no wide separation of the wood from the frame, a condition that is common with many such pistols.
Overall an sharp pistol in excellent condition.
