A good condition Spanish Miquelet percussion traveling or coat pistol from the Basque arms manufacture centre of Eibar by Jose Beistequi dated 1855.
The pistol measures 12 ¼ inches with the .69 calibre octagonal barrel measuring around 6 ½ inches. In the traditional manner the barrel is marked over three of the flats. The markings read ‘FABRICADO / POR JOSE BEISTAGUI EN EIBAR / ANO 1855’.

The action is in very good working order with a strong main spring tension.
The full length stock is in good condition with one crack at the muzzle and s small chip missing under the checked grip on the left side. The brass tipped rammer appears original to the pistol.
