London Pocket by Burgon c1790

A late 18th century screw off barrel flintlock pock pistol marked Burgon of London.
The screw off .50 caliber barrel measures 1 ¾ inches while the whole pistol measures 6 inches.
The box lock frame is engraved with ‘BURGON’ on the left side and ‘LONDON’ on the right. London poofs on the underside.
The pistol holds half and full cock but will not release from full without some help.
The slab sided grip is in a fair to good condition. The pistol has been in Australia for some time as evident by the obsolete NSW Police registration number ‘0005869’.
A William Burgon is recorded as working in London from 1715 to 1750 so this pistol may well have been made before 1790.
