Late Production Colt 3rd Model Deringer

$2350
A very good example of a very, very late production and English proofed Colt 3rd Model ‘Thuer’ Deringer in .41 Rimfire short with a late serial number 47517.
The third model Deringer was designed by Colt employee F. Alexander Thuer and went into production in 1870. Production ceased in 1912 with some 47,000 units made.
This pistol has standard features of 2 ½ inch sideways pivoting barrel, walnut grips and a sloping hammer.
The top of the barrel is marked ‘COLT’ and the left side of the frame is marked ’41 CAL’. The serial number 47517 is stamped on the frame under the grips which are also hand numbered to the pistol.
English proofs appear on the underside of the barrel.
The action is in perfect working order.
The barrel has a nice even patina and the nickeled frame is in a very good condition with minor signs of wear.
The grips are in very good unvarnished condition.
The serial number of 47517 suggests that this is one of the last ever made. A good reason to add it to your collection.
Sold as a collector item only.
Please note that while this pistol uses an obsolete cartridge regulations and licensing vary from state to state, check with your appropriate authority.
