Silver mounted Travelling Pistol by Mellier c1800

A quality three quarter stocked silver mounted flintlock travelling pistol in very good condition from around 1800.
The .54 calibre octagonal to round barrel measures just over 7 ½ inches while the whole pistol measures almost 13 ½ inches.
The barrel has a blade front sight, retains all of its original brown finish and what appears to be a gold touch hole. The bore has been neglected and needs a good clean.
The lock plate and cock both have foliate engraving with the lock being engraved with the makers details of ‘A MELLIER / A LIEGE’. The action is in excellent working order and frizzen shows very little use.
Side plate, rammer pipe and trigger guard are all silver with delicate engravings.
The silver butt cap has a delightfully ugly silver face with horns and teeth and a lightly engraved tang.
The carved three quarter stock is solid and in good condition with small losses at the front of the lock and behind the hammer.
The iron rammer appears to be a later replacement.
