Holster Pistol by T Thiermay, Liege c1740
An attractive holster pistol by the Liege gun smith Thomas Thiermay made around 1740.
The .55 calibre round barrel with sighted top flat measures 8 ½ inches while the whole pistol measures almost 14 ½ inches. The barrel still has much of the original blue finish and the makers stamp still has remnants of applied gold leaf.
The action is in working order with the lock being lightly engraved with ‘T THIERMAY / A LIEGE’.
The European walnut stock has ornate carving between the rammer pipe and trigger guard and behind the barrel tang.
All the cast brass furniture is in good condition.
Overall this holster pistol is very good condition.
