Jno Jones & Co Tap Action c1800

A tap action double barrel flintlock pocket pistol by Jno Jones & Co from around 1800.
The .46 calibre screw off smooth bore barrels 1 3/8 inches each while the whole pistol measures 5 ¾ inches.
The engraved frame is clearly marked ‘JNO / JONES & / CO’ on the left side and ‘LONDON’ on the right. The underside of the breech has London proofs and a barrel maker’s mark of ‘R’.
The action works, though a bit stiff at full cock and the tap moves cleanly. The front of the sliding safety is absent and the trigger guard is a bit loose. Both barrels screw off.
The slab grip is in a solid used condition.
The metal parts and sharp and much of the original blue finish remains.
