Cased Tap Action Pistol by W Parker c1820

A very good cased tap action flintlock pistol from the founder of the famous gun making firm of Parker, Field & Sons.
The .50 calibre screw off barrels measure almost 3 inches while the whole pistol measures a bit over 8 ½ inches. Both barrel screw off.
The box lock has military themed engraving with ‘W PARKER / HOLBORN’ and ‘LONDON’ in scrolls on the centres of the locks. London proof are under the breech.
The action is in good working order with the drop down trigger also functioning. The sliding safety and tap are stiff and need oil.
Overall the slab grip with checkering down the spine and a vacant echelon is in a good condition. There is a noticeable impact depression on the left side.
The case is in good condition and original to the pistol but the label appears to be a replacement as Parker, Field & Sons did not come into existence until 1850.
The bullet mould is correct for the pistol and the powder flask is from the correct period.
Sold as a collectable only.
Price includes postage in Australia, lay buy available.
