Belt Hooked Pocket c1850

A very attractive percussion pocket pistol with a screw off barrel and drop down trigger. The screw off re-blued barrel is about a .47 Cal and 3 inches in length. The frame is lightly engraved as is the drop down trigger.
The attractive root walnut bag grip is in good condition with no cracks or splits and the shield shaped echelon is vacant.
There are no proof marks either English or Belgium which suggests that it is of French origin, very similar in style to the French gun maker Auguste Francotte.
While having a belt hook on a pocket pistol may seem odd it did help secure the pistol inside your coat.
All in all an attractive small pistol in good working order and very good condition.
Sold as a collectable only.
Price includes postage with insurance in Australia, lay buy available.
