Double Barrel by Bissell

An excellent large double barrel flintlock pistol from around 1800. The pistol is marked ‘Bissell’ and has been expertly refurbished.
The .68 and .70 smoothbore Damascus barrels measure 7 ¾ inches while the whole arm measures around 13 ½ inches. With expert care the barrels once again display their true Damascus colours and finish. The makers details are no longer displayed on the barrel rib.
Both locks are clearly marked ‘Bissell’ and have been returned to their original flintlock format using original parts where needed and cleaned to look new.
Needless to say, both actions are in perfect working order.
The walnut stock is in very good condition being oiled and polished and checkering refreshed to a sharp finish.
Overall, an excellent condition pistol in the hard to get double barrel format.
