Cased Pistols by Patrick of Liverpool c1830

A very good condition cased pair of percussion belt pistols by Patrick of Liverpool. Patrick is listed as a gun maker in Liverpool from 1780 to 1830.

The .51 calibre octagonal barrels with swivel rammers measure 4 inches and the pistols are 8 ¼ inches in length. Each barrel is engraved ‘Patrick Liverpool’ with front and rear sights.

The box lock and side hammers are engraved as are the barrel tangs. The actions work as intended as do the drop down triggers.

The walnut stocks are finely checked with silver boarders to the flat butt which have an ornate bottom panel.

The pistols come in their original green baized mahogany case with the correct accoutrements. A previous owners initials of ‘IPW’ are on the case handle.

Overall these pistols are in a very good condition with much original finish remaining especially to the belt hooks and left hand side of the locks.
