Cannon Barrel Pocket by Archer c1750

$2700
A mid 18th century three quarter stocked pocket pistol from the London gun maker William Archer with it’s silver wiring still intact. Archer is recorded as operating in London from 1750 to 1790.
The .45 calibre screw off barrel measures 3 ¾ inches from the back of the breech. Over all the pistol measures 8 ¼ inches. The barrel has early London private proofs and is engraved ‘LONDON’. The barrel is stuck firm.
The lock is engraved ‘ARCHER’. The action is weak but still operational. All of the iron work show differing affects of age.
All the brass furniture including the vacant brass wrist echelon is in good condition.
The three-quarter walnut stock is also in good condition with all the silver wiring around the barrel tang still present.
Over all a good example of an earlier flintlock pocket pistol.
